Why Sonnenburg?
If you look west from the Sonnenburg garden, your gaze will inevitably fall upon an ornate gate that seems to come from another time. That’s because it does. Where you now spend carefree holidays, the Sonnenburg castle once stood, giving the hotel its name. Only the tall iron portal remains of the historic edifice, whose grounds are now home to a residential complex. The colourful gate once guarded the entrance, and the castle itself served as the naming inspiration when Grandpa Wieser founded our Sonnenburg.
