Hiking on Merano 2000: always enjoyable
The panoramic path with views of the Dolomites
Summer hiking on Merano 2000 is a unique experience. On Meran’s local mountain, the hiking options range from leisurely circular walks and panoramic trails with great views to challenging summit tours. The valley station is just 800 metres from our hotel in Meran. The modern cable car takes you up to Merano 2000 in 10 minutes.
A special highlight is the panoramic trail, which offers you spectacular views while hiking on Merano 2000. Trail number 3 starts in Piffing and leads past the Waidmannalm alpine inn to the Missensteiner Joch, on to the Kesselberg mountain hut, and finally to the Mittager mountain hut. From here, you return to Piffing via the Meraner and Rotwand huts. The circular route is easy to walk, but still spectacular. Here you can let your gaze wander far and wide over the Dolomites, the Ortles/Ortler region, and the Tessa/Texel Group while hiking on Merano 2000.
